# Pingle > Pingle (https://pingleapp.co.uk) is a free UK web app that gets you a yes from the group chat: make an invite in about 30 seconds, paste one link in WhatsApp or any chat, and guests tap Going, Maybe or Can’t with no app or sign-up while the host sees a live headcount. Pingle is for casual get-togethers: birthdays, kids’ parties, BBQs and braais, house parties, housewarmings, nights out, game nights, watch parties and drinks. It is free for hosts and guests, with no card, no trial, no paid tier and no limit on events. Neither hosts nor guests need an account or an app; the host keeps a private host link to see replies, nudge people who said maybe and share a change of plan. Guests can say how many are coming, add dietary needs and a message, say what they are bringing from the host’s bring list, add the event to their calendar and, if they leave an email, get a reminder. Hosts can set an optional guest limit: guests see how many places are left, and once it is full new Going replies join a waiting list that the host can move people in from. When the date, time or place changes, the host can share a change-of-plan message and email guests who left an address. Hosts can hide the headcount from guests. Names are hidden from guests unless the host chooses to show the guest list (first names only); dietary needs and messages are only ever seen by the host. ## Key facts - What it is: A free web app for casual invites: one link for the group chat, a live headcount for you. - Price: Free. £0, no card, no trial and no paid tier. - Accounts: None needed. Hosts get a private host link; guests just tap the link. - Guest replies: Going, Maybe or Can’t, plus how many are coming. Dietary needs and a message are optional. - Extras: A bring list (who’s bringing what), an optional guest limit with a waiting list and change-of-plan emails to guests who left an address. - Works with: WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram DMs, texts and email. Guests need no app. - Best for: Birthdays, kids’ parties, BBQs and braais, house parties, housewarmings, game nights, watch parties and drinks. - Not for: Weddings and formal dinners (use our sister site RSVP Events) or selling tickets. - Based in: United Kingdom. Made for UK hosts, in UK English with UK dates. ## How Pingle differs from the alternatives - WhatsApp events: built into WhatsApp since 2024 and great when everyone is already in one group. Only members of that group can see and reply. A Pingle link works across several group chats, texts, email and DMs, for people not on WhatsApp, and counts plus-ones and dietary needs. - Partiful: a free, design-led invite app from the US built around phone numbers and texts. Pingle needs no account for anyone and is made for UK WhatsApp groups. - Evite: a long-running US invitation service with free, ad-supported invitations and paid upgrades. Pingle has no ads and no paid tier, and focuses on quick replies rather than card designs. ## When to use RSVP Events instead For weddings, christenings, anniversaries, formal milestone birthdays and sit-down dinners where you need meal choices for each guest, use Pingle’s sister site RSVP Events (https://rsvp-events.uk). ## Privacy Event and reply data is kept while an event is upcoming and for 12 months afterwards, and removed within 30 days when a host deletes an event. Pingle sets no cookies and shows no advertising; its own analytics stays off until a visitor opts in.
