Plus-ones and dietary needs are counted, and the host sees replies on a private host link. Optional extras: a bring list so guests can say what they are bringing, a guest limit with a waiting list and change-of-plan emails to guests who left an address.
Good for: Inviting people across several chats, guests who will not install anything, and getting a headcount fast.

WhatsApp events
Built into WhatsApp since 2024 for group chats and communities. An event is a card in the group; members respond on it and WhatsApp reminds them before it starts.

Evite
One of the oldest online invitation services, based in the US, with a large library of invitation designs sent by email or text. Free invitations show ads; paid Premium invitations remove ads and add designs, and there is a paid subscription for heavy users. Prices are listed in US dollars.
Good for: Hosts who want a classic designed invitation card.
Less good for: Ads on free invites, and the best designs are paid.
